Okay... now, comes the 16 designers research.
Mine is on Tom Dixon as well as Frank Gehry A.
First up, Tom Dixons' Copper Shade Pendant.The Copper Shade Pendant is used as lighting's for dining tables.
Having guests or visitors at home, and looking at our dining table with this sort of lighting feature would give them the 'magical' feel as this product has the 'floating' ambiance. The fully covered Copper coating would give a glassy look taht reflects its' surrounding.
I like this product as it reminds me of fairytales, where only fantasies exist. It gives off the 'dreamy' context which could put people at ease.
Second product that caught my attention is the Fresh Fat, also by Tom Dixon. This is another one of Tom Dixons' collection which i find really unique. The Fresh Fat Bowl & Fresh Fat Chair are simply just unique equipments that are made from extruded and hand-woven clear plastic. This adds the glassy effect on the product it is actually far from fragile. This technique of using clear plastic gives it a bubbly look as well as cute. Eventhough it may look weak, it is stronger than what u think it is capable of. I chose this as my second product as it reminds me of bubbles which would burst once we poke it. The plastic also gives of a 'wet' look which makes the overall feature very calm and cooling.
Final product chosen: The Venice Beach house by Frank Gehry A.The overall arrangements of the building really brings out the relaxing beach atmosphere, with the wood-looking entrance, blue glass panes as well as the 'open' feel. The colours used are bright, giving off a lively touch. I chose this particular one as it has the 'fun' element in it. With the colours together with the funky shaped building parts, the Venice Beach House really gives off a positive mood.

These are some of the pics i took from my aunts' place... actually, it's just from A room in my aunts' place...
yea...i know... very messy... HAHA!
Pic 1: A whole 'series' of plugs and wires and extensions... lols... First thing that came in mind was, "Very MESSY and UNSAFE!"
Pic 2: Cabinets are made to make things stored in it neat and tidy. But from what I see, it's not even the least bit tidy.
Pic 3: FYI, it's supposed to be a computer table. It's hidden under all the things you see before your eyes...the computer is the black squarish thing you see in the background... the modem is the white thins on the right side of the pic... =.= Funny and scary is it not?
Pic 1: A ox may be designed to 'contain' all the plugs you see. Not just any box, but, maybe a box where there's a lock or code to it so that children could not get a hold of it. In this box, there could be different compartments to store each plugs in neatly and NOT all chunked together like what you see in the picture.
Pic 2: Too many bags in one puny cabinet! So, either buy a bigger one OR buy a SAME SIZED ones but with different 'pockets' in it. In that way, each bag can be stored neatly into one pocket! This is just a rough idea though...
Pic 3: A TSUNAMI OF MESS! seriously! A computer table...many things are needed near it... or maybe...'in' it? We need PENS, DISCs, THUMBDRIVES, NOTEBOOKS...etc.
Why not, there is a computer table made where there are 'spaces' in it to 'hide' the stuffs we need near the computer? Kinda hard to imagine? Well, ill just draw it in my Journal then... =D

First part that i sketched. It's a Body scrub...lols. It is an organic shape you know... =D (Design Learn)
Second phase of sketch, It a ROOT BEER FLOAT! Im free to think and the first thing i thought of was this. =D (Design Unlearn)
Third Sketch. A Standing lamp. (Design Force learn)This was what we did today...before getting our O levels theme. We were asked to bring an organic shaped item to school and a body scrub was all i can think of. Mind you, it's new...i took it out from it's packaging.=D Well, Now dat we got the theme, it's time to work!

ASSIGNMENT #3!!!
Name of organization: Mercy Relief.
What they represent: It represents an independent charitable non-governmental humanitarian Organization by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.
What are their activities: Mercy relief focuses on;
- Emergency Relief, where they are ready to provide timely and effective relief aid to victims of disasters.
- Water & Sanitation, where they improve access to safe drinking water and also providing
sanitary disposal of excreta. - Sustainable Livelihoods, where they help build livelihoods to reduce poverty.
- Education, where they create, enable and improve access to / for a better education.
- Healtcare, where they enhance health care infrastructures & systems, reducing the burden of disease, strengthening skills & knowledge of health care workers.
So, to 'motivate' people to help out or 'advertise' this organization, first think i can think of is, Flyers. However, flyers are super boring and once people take one, they'd throw it away like, immediately. Therefore, this 'flyer' shan't be any ordinary 'flyer'.
If it's possible, make sth like a Birthday card where a song is being played once it opens. But, this time, only light shines and no osund. The light can be in a shape of a cross to represent 'aid', or any other sigh=n that attracts attention. This might trigger people to read on.

there are loads of needs here i guess... maybe you can relate to us about what you went through as a visitor in BRUNEI...
context here is living in kampong ayer in BRUNEI?
aspects of transportation, getting on and off land, recreation etc can be addressed based on your perspective as a visitor there.. who knows, Sultan of Brunei might buy your idea and you can become RICH!!!

AHHH!!!! My laptop broke n now, im at my cuzin place all the way at PASIR RIS juz to use laptop. -.-
Ok... first thing... photo analysis...
>> From my perspective, the very first thing that came in mind is safety issues, just like what rina said. From one look, for people who have not been to brunei, they would think that it's an unsafe place...
However...mind you, from my experience, it is a safe place. Tho the houses are on water, they are very stabilized. Maybe they could repaint it or something, to make it more 'fresh-looking' because, now, it looks super old, making it look unsafe...at all.
SECOND THING!
We just got out O lvls theme today... it's tidiness. In this case, if i were to analise this foto based on tidiness, i'd say that the way they built the buildings and the way they 'fetch' people from one place to another is not tidy at all. It just makes the surrounding look messy, cramped and untidy. The way they built this place should be more neat and spacious and not letting all the 'not nice' things like old looking ladders float around and be seen. =)

Assignment #1:
Gameplan.
OK... so gameplan is a plan on how we want the work to be done. Now i get it.
Starting from the moment we get the theme, here goes...
OH! week 1, is the week after this week ok! =D
Week 1: Getting our main theme for the year. Questions, instructions, what to do next, all done in week one. Clearing of doubts also done in this week. Research will be next.
Week 2-3: Start researching! Regarding the theme, find out what it is exactly. Find out any needs/problems/flaws. All in all, just find out more information on the theme. Compile everything up... next, discussion.
Week 4-5: Informations found are to be brought to school/ class. Each person is to discuss about their findings. The good things as well as the bad things. All that done, 'choose' the most interesting need or flaws that we wanna work/focus on for the year. Continue researching on the main need that is already chosen.
Week 6-8: Research is still going on. But at the same time, the creation on image board/ mood board/ persona profile has to be done too. This time, a thorough analysis of the findings has to be done. Who will be using the product? (User analysis) Is it gonna be comfortable? Too big? too small? attractive or not? 'Helps' the user in what way? etc etc... (product analysis, PIES)
Week 9: Bring the Image Board to school as well as your recent research. Again, talk to the class and this would be the 'final whole' discussion in class. The job is nearly done... now, all that's needed to be done is to some up everything that you did and organize it.
Week 10: Design brief. However, this cannot be too narrowed down to a main thing coz, in the middle of the proccess later on, we never know what changes can happen.
